Inserting Clip art, pictures, and web links into PowerPoint

While working with PowerPoint's built in is great, you will most likely need to insert clip art, photos, or other media into your presentation. If you are doing a presentation about a certain animal and you want to insert a picture, this is how you can add a picture from the Internet into your presentation.

Step One: Go to a website that offers free pictures. (You will want to use free pictures, because generally these are not restricted by copyright laws.) For animals, National Geographic Kids is a good place to start. (You still need to add the source where you found the image on your reference page, so make sure you bookmark or write down the information.)

Step Two: Let's say you're report is on hammerhead sharks and you found a cool picture. Using your mouse, right click and then choose "copy image." You can also choose "save image" and save it into your student folder.

Step Three: Within your PowerPoint presentation, click your cursor where you want your image to appear, and then do ctrl + v to paste or choose Insert Image from the menu and import your saved image from your student folder. Watch the screen cast below to see how you can add pictures or clip art:
